The World Health Organization works to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system to achieve better health for everyone, everywhere. Globally, WHO works with 194 Member States in 150 country offices across six regions. WHO partners with countries, the United Nations system, international organizations, civil society, foundations, academia, and research institutions. Our main areas of work are health systems; health through the life-course; noncommunicable and communicable diseases; and emergency preparedness, surveillance and response. In Timor-Leste, WHO is committed to providing continued support to the Government of Timor-Leste in its efforts to realize ‘Healthy East Timorese People in a Healthy Timor-Leste’ by ensuring universal access to promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services.
