Island Voices Journalism Campaign

The United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) is running the Island Voices journalism campaign in 2019 to help raise awareness and build capacity among island journalists of the SAMOA Pathway and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The campaign will consist of three parts:

  1. Learning materials which highlight what the SAMOA Pathway and the Sustainable Development Goals are and why they are important for small islands;
  2. Island journalists will be invited to submit published stories related to the SAMOA Pathway;
  3. UN-OHRLLS will select and fund a group of island journalists to attend the Midterm Review of the SAMOA Pathway which will take place in September 2019 at UN Headquarters in New York.

Journalists are invited to complete a short survey on the SAMOA pathway and SDGs. More info here
