Climate activist at the Timor-Leste Climate Conference

When the school girl from Sweden talks, people stop and listen.

Today at the Clime Change comnference in Dili, Timor-Leste, the resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Timor-Leste, Mr Roy Trivedy, played a speech by 16 year old Greta Thunberg. The clip was greeted with warm applause.

Greta started protesting against climate change inaction by going on strike each Friday, and protesting oustside the government offices in Sweden.

It sparked the#schoolstrike movement across the world and now Greta is sought as a no-nonsense speaker at conferences everywhere.

Greta spoke to the United Nations in October, and her speech was used at the Timor-Leste conference.
